A 30-year-old man died after he was shot in South Gate, authorities said Tuesday.
The shooting was reported about 11:10 p.m. Monday in the 8400 block of Cypress Avenue, according to Deputy Eric Ortiz of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
The victim was unresponsive when found lying on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds to his upper body, Ortiz said.
Paramedics took the man to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the deputy said.
Sheriff’s homicide detectives were called to the scene to look for witnesses and collect evidence, Ortiz said.
No suspect information was available.
The victim’s name was not released pending notification of relatives.
