A nine-day sting operation in Pomona that concluded Friday resulted in 30 people arrested for a variety of prostitution-related offenses.
The Pomona Police Department’s Sexual Exploitation and Trafficking team conducted the operation in the Holt Corridor from Sept. 10 through Friday, according to Sgt. Brad Paulson.
Among those taken into custody were:
— 18 arrested for loitering with the intent to solicit for prostitution;
— 10 arrested for engaging in or soliciting prostitution;
— 1 arrested for lewd acts in public;
— 1 arrested for an outstanding warrant related to prostitution.
Of the 10 arrested for engaging in or soliciting prostitution, nine were sex purchasers. Officers also impounded a vehicle, Paulson said.
The department plans to conduct similar future operations to combat human trafficking, Paulson said.
