A suspected drunken driver crashed a vehicle into a house in Pomona, killing one person inside, authorities said Friday morning.

The accident was reported about 9:15 p.m. Thursday in the 1100 block of Colony Drive, near South Hamilton Boulevard, according to the Pomona Police Department.

When officers arrived on scene, they discovered a vehicle had crashed into a house and a resident had sustained life-threatening injuries, police said.

The victim was trapped under the vehicle for at least 20 minutes and declared dead at the scene.

The driver of a late-model PT Cruiser was traveling southbound on Hamilton Boulevard at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and crashed into the house, police said.
