The passenger of a car that crashed into parked vehicles in Long Beach died Saturday, and the driver was charged with suspicion of vehicular manslaughter.

Chap Choun, 41, was a Long Beach resident, according to Long Beach police.

The crash happened about 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Orange Avenue and 20th Street, police said.

A 1999 Toyota Solara crashed into several parked vehicles and driver Chhoeup Khim, 51, of Long Beach was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, police said. The charge of vehicular manslaughter was added.

Choun’s injuries were not believed life-threatening, police said.
