Investigators are seeking the public’s help in tracking down whoever fatally shot a man as he was driving a vehicle in an unincorporated area near Compton.
Deputies went to the 12400 block of South Mona Boulevard in the Willowbrook area about 11:55 p.m. Sunday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
“It appears the victim was driving near the intersection of 124th Street and Mona Boulevard when he was shot,” according to a sheriff’s statement. “The victim continued to drive until he struck a light pole and another vehicle, at which time his vehicle came to rest.”
The man, about 30-35 years old, died at the scene. His name was withheld, pending notification of his family.
A motive for the shooting was not known.
