The body of a 30-year-old Long Beach woman was found Tuesday on the Long Beach (710) Freeway after being struck by multiple vehicles.
Long Beach police received a call about 3 a.m. of a possible body on the freeway, near Pico Avenue. Arriving officers discovered the body under the Sixth Street connector from the southbound 710 Freeway, police said.
Investigators believe the woman was crossing northbound lanes of the freeway — why was unknown — when she was struck by multiple vehicles. Surveillance footage in the area shows a person matching the victim’s description walking along the freeway about 2 a.m., according to police.
The coroner’s office has identified her, but her name will not be released until family is notified.
Officers did not locate any vehicles or drivers that may have been involved in the collision.
