One person was killed Saturday morning in a five-vehicle crash involving a wrong-way driver on the westbound Century (105) Freeway in South Los Angeles.

The wrong-way vehicle crashed head-on into another vehicle near Long Beach Boulevard at 3:05 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

A representative from the Los Angeles County coroner’s office was called to the location at 4:05 a.m., the CHP said.

The age, gender and name of the victim were not disclosed.

Paramedics dispatched to the crash scene took no one to any area hospitals, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher.

The crash prompted the closure of all westbound lanes of the Century Freeway at Long Beach Boulevard. All lanes were re-opened at about 7:25 a.m.
