A man was undergoing surgery Sunday evening at a trauma center after being struck by an SUV on a West Covina street.
It happened about 7:30 p.m. on Azusa Avenue at Amar Road, said West Covina police Lt. J. Munn.
“It appears he stepped into traffic,” Munn said about the injured pedestrian. The SUV driver remained at the scene.
The investigation was ongoing, he said.
