A gunfight between Los Angeles police officers and a suspect at a Ralphs market in Granada Hills left one officer wounded and the alleged gunman under arrest.

The shooting happened about 6:30 p.m. Sunday in a shopping center at Balboa Boulevard and Devonshire Street, according to the LAPD and media reports from the scene.

One officer was wounded and transported to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening wounds, Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said.

The LAFD also transported another person from the scene who was not a police officer, she said. There was no immediate word on the condition or nature of that second person’s injury.

The suspect was located about 45 minutes after the officer-involved-shooting and taken into custody, ABC7 reported.
