A 30-year-old woman was killed when her pickup truck overturned and caught fire after slamming into a center divider on Interstate 15 in Wildomar, authorities said Monday.
The fatality happened about 6 p.m. Sunday on southbound I-15 at Olive Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officer Mike Lassig said that the victim, a San Fernando woman whose was withheld pending family notification, was driving her 2019 Ford Super Duty at high speed when the vehicle veered onto the shoulder adjacent to the center divider, hitting the divider guardrail at the Olive Street bridge.
“The vehicle traveled down the embankment, causing it to roll over,” Lassig said. “The pickup came to rest on Olive Street (below), where it became fully engulfed in fire.”
