One man was shot dead and another one was critically wounded during a shooting in Gardena, police said Saturday.
The fatal shooting victim was identified as Evan Campbell, 29, of Gardena, Gardena Police Lt. Mike Sargent said.
Officers dispatched at 9:47 p.m. Friday regarding several gunshots heard in the 1200 block of 144th Street, found Campbell lying in the street in the 14400 block of Raymond Avenue, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Sargent said.
Campbell was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.
Officers then found another man in the street in the 1200 block of 144th Street, suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics rushed him, in critical condition, to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, he said.
“The name of the second adult male is currently being withheld pending further investigation,” Sargent said.
