A pedestrian was struck and killed Thursday evening by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene in a residential area of Van Nuys.
The collision occurred about 7:15 p.m. in the area of Natick Avenue and Burbank Boulevard, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer William Cooper. A description of the vehicle was not available.
Detectives remained at the scene at 9:10 p.m., but further information was not immediately released.
