A man killed when a vehicle in the Pacific Palisades left the roadway and crashed into two parked vehicles was a Los Angeles resident, authorities said Sunday.

David Martinez, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene and three other people were critically injured in the Saturday morning crash. Another person suffered minor injuries.

The crash was reported at 3:38 a.m. Saturday in the 17800 block of Pacific Coast Highway, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

A vehicle was southbound on Pacific Coast Highway when it left the road and struck two parked vehicles, said Officer Jeffrey Lee of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section.

Martinez was sitting inside one of the parked vehicles, Lee said.

The crash forced the closure of the northbound and southbound lanes of Pacific Coast Highway, from Sunset Boulevard to Coastline Drive, Caltrans reported.
