For the second Sunday in a row since the presidential election, supporters of President Donald Trump drove in a caravan from Palm Springs to Rancho Mirage, where they held a rally Sunday.
The group of about 50 vehicles departed from Sunny Dunes and Crossley Roads about 11:15 a.m. and arrived at Rancho Mirage Community Park by about 1:30 p.m., receiving both cheers and jeers along the way.
Vehicles displayed flags emblazoned with Trump’s name while others displayed the “blue lives matter” flag, a black-and-white American flag with a single blue stripe, commonly used to symbolize support for police.
The organizers, who call themselves the Trump Brigade, falsely claim that Trump won the election.
It has been more than two week since most major media outlets called the election for Joe Biden, who won with 306 electoral votes against Trump’s 232.
However, Trump has continued to deny the results of the election and continues to promote baseless conspiracy theories about election fraud, despite producing no evidence of those allegations, and losing nearly every court case his lawyers have filed.
Election officials across the country have rebuked Trump’s claims, saying the election was secure. In addition, a growing number of Republican leaders and lawmakers have acknowledged his defeat and called for an immediate transition to a Biden administration.
