A pedestrian who was struck by two vehicles in the Florence area of Los Angeles died, while both drivers fled, authorities said Monday.

Jose Fuentes, 50, was a Los Angeles resident, according to the coroner’s office.

The crash was reported at 7:42 p.m. Sunday at 77th Street and Central Avenue, according to a dispatcher in the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.

The victim now identified as Fuentes was attempting to cross the street when he was struck by the two vehicles, she said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
