A person died after a vehicle crashed into a center divider on the Temecula Valley (15) Freeway, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The crash happened on the southbound 15 at Main South around 1:40 p.m., the CHP reported.

It shut down the No. 1 lane. The CHP issued a SigAlert at 2::25 p.m., while the body and damaged vehicle were removed, the CHP said.

The person’s name was withheld pending notification to the family. There was no immediate word on the gender or age of the victim.
