A motorist possibly involved in a road rage confrontation was involved Tuesday in a crash on a freeway exit ramp in Riverside that injured at least one person.
The collision happened about 10:50 a.m. on the southbound Interstate 215 off-ramp to Martin Luther King Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Moments before the collision, there was a confrontation near Central Avenue and I-215, during which one driver brandished a handgun at another, according to the agency.
The incident culminated in one of the motorists going the wrong way and ending up at MLK, where the impact occurred, according to reports from the scene.
Riverside Fire Department paramedics were sent to the location and discovered an injured motorist, though there was no word on the extent of the person’s injuries, and it also wasn’t clear whether the party was the same one who allegedly brandished a gun.
No arrests were made at the scene. The ramp was completely shut down while the CHP conducted an investigation and paramedics treated the patient.
