An off-duty Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy was shot Wednesday in San Jacinto.
The deputy was taken to a hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and has been released, according to the sheriff’s department.
The shooting occurred “during the commission of a crime in San Jacinto,” the sheriff’s department said in a statement, but further details were not immediately available.
ABC7 reported the deputy was shot about 3 a.m. at a San Jacinto Shell gas station.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the shooting.
