A woman who apparently was lying on a roadway was struck by a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department vehicle and killed Friday in the south Los Angeles area, authorities said.
The woman, about 40-50 years old, was hit by the westbound vehicle about 6:35 a.m. on Imperial Highway near Success Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. She died at the scene.
Information on her identity was not immediately available.
The circumstances of the death were under investigation. There was no other information available from authorities.
