Riverside County District Attorney Mike Hestrin and other agency employees are now blogging to get the word out on actions that concern the public, as well as provide details connected to prosecutions and share stories that might be of interest to residents, it was announced Friday.
“Our blog will be true stories — our stories — straight from us to you,” said Amy McKenzie, the communications manager for the D.A.’s office. “The blog is one way we can share our mission, criminal case updates, critical information and services.”
The blog page went live on the D.A.’s website — www.rivcoda.org — Friday morning. A button on the main page, titled “BLOG,” is where visitors will need to click for access.
The inaugural article is labeled “A Survivor’s Story” and concerns a 15-year-old girl who was located by members of the Riverside County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force during an investigation into offenses committed by a sexual predator.
The teenager was rescued and returned to safety. The man who exploited her ultimately pleaded guilty to human trafficking.
There is an option on the page that permits visitors to sign up for email alerts whenever new information is posted.
