A biker on a 2015 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was killed Saturday in a single-vehicle traffic crash in Irwindale, a police sergeant said.

The crash occurred near the intersection of Arrow Highway and Live Oak Avenue, where the motorist had been going eastbound on Arrow Highway and struck the center divider, where the roadway curves to meet Live Oak Avenue, Irwindale Police Sgt. Rudy Gatto said.

Police were dispatched to the crash location at about 12:45 a.m., where the rider was ejected from his bike and pronounced dead at the scene, Gatto said. There were no other vehicles involved in the crash.

Officers from the Baldwin Park, Azusa and Glendora police departments assisted the Irwindale Police Department with the street closures and the investigation. The intersection of Arrow Highway and Live Oak Avenue (East) was closed for approximately six hours during the investigation, he said.

The motorcyclist’s name will be released pending notification of next of kin, according to the coroner’s office.

Irwindale police urged anyone with information regarding the crash to call them at 626-430-2245.
