A man who was electrocuted Tuesday morning when a high-voltage transformer blew near the area in Wilmington where he was working was rushed to a hospital, where his condition was not immediately available.
Firefighters responded at about 2:25 a.m. to the 600 block of West Harry Bridges Boulevard, east of the Harbor (110) Freeway, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
A bystander told authorities the man was working in a trench when the high voltage transformer blew, Stewart said.
It was unclear if the man worked for a government entity or private firm.
