A 30-year-old man was fatally injured during an attack in Moreno Valley early Wednesday, but the circumstances were unclear, and the assailant was at large.
Victor Adriano Amat Guzman, of Moreno Valley, drove to the 22000 block of Alessandro Boulevard, near Day Street, where he got out of his car and collapsed about 1 a.m., according to Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Lionel Murphy.
A witness called 911, and patrol deputies reached the location within a few minutes, Murphy said.
A deputy began life-saving measures, followed by Cal Fire paramedics. However, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later, Murphy said.
Central Homicide Unit detectives opened an investigation, but no details have been released, including a possible motive or cause of death, with sheriff’s officials saying only that it was intentional.
