A man accused of groping a student at Orange Coast College was arrested before dawn Thursday.

Alex Enrique Siliezar, 28, was taken into custody about 4:30 a.m., after campus police recognized him as matching the suspect’s description and followed him out of the campus, said Roxi Fyad, the Costa Mesa Police Department’s public affairs manager.

Costa Mesa officers were called to the scene and “once Siliezar was identified as the male who attacked the victim” they arrested him, Fyad said.

Police said Siliezar, a Costa Mesa resident, approached a 19-year-old on campus just before 5 p.m. Wednesday and “forcibly groped her” as she walked near the Technology building.

A good Samaritan who heard the woman intervened and the woman broke free, Fyad said.

“The victim was able to get away and the suspect fled the scene when he was confronted by the good Samaritan,” Fyad said.

Siliezar was taken to the Orange County Jail on suspicion of sexual assault.
