Three teenage boys were arrested in connection with an armed robbery in the city of Claremont, authorities said Tuesday.
The robbery occurred at about 1:15 p.m. Sunday around First Street and Indian Hill Boulevard, according to Claremont police Lt. Jason Walters.
Two of the teens and the victim had agreed to meet for an OfferUp sale, Walters said.
“During the transaction, the suspects brandished a firearm and demanded the victim’s property,” Walters said. “The victim complied with the suspect’s demands and the suspects fled to an awaiting vehicle driven by a third suspect.”
Responding officers were given a description of the suspects and their vehicle, which led investigators to a home in the 1400 block of East Holt Blvd. in Pomona, he said.
During surveillance of the home, the two 17-year-old suspects were seen getting into the vehicle and they were immediately pulled over by detectives, Walters said.
Investigators found evidence inside connecting the suspects to the Claremont robbery and the teens were arrested for suspicion of robbery, he said.
Detectives also served a search warrant at the Holt Boulevard home, and he said, “Additional evidence was located inside the residence in connection to the robbery, and the victim’s property was also located.”
A 15-year-old Pomona boy was also arrested at the home in connection to the robbery, Walters said.
One juvenile was being held in the Central Juvenile Hall facility in Eastlake, one was released into the custody of a parent or guardian with a citation after booking and one juvenile was released pending further investigation, he said.
