A man was struck and killed by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash in Gardena Friday evening.
Officers responded about 5:55 p.m. to a report of a man lying in the 1400 block of 130th Street, near Normandie Avenue, according to Lt. Erick Lee of the Gardena Police Department.
The man was not breathing when officers located him and Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics were unable to revive the victim and he was pronounced dead at the scene, Lee said.
A preliminary investigation determined the victim’s injuries were consistent with being struck and run over by a vehicle, Lee said.
Police did not have a description of a suspect vehicle and asked anyone who witnessed the crash to call Investigator Jose Zamudio at 310-217-6189.
The name of the victim was not disclosed.
