A man was shot and killed in Van Nuys early Wednesday morning and the shooter was being sought, police said.

The shooting took place around 2 a.m. near Peach and Hart streets, LAPD spokeswoman Lizeth Lomeli said. Officers responded after 911 calls concerning shots fired, she added.

Officers found the man — between the ages of 25 and 30 — suffering from gunshot wounds, and he died at the scene, Lomeli said.

The man’s name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

No suspect information or motive was immediately known.
