An emergency search is underway for a 28-year-old prisoner who walked away Saturday from the state’s Male Community Reentry Program facility in Los Angeles.
Authorities were notified at 12:10 a.m. that Davonte Lauderdale had departed the facility without authorization, reported California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation spokesman Luis Patino.
Lauderdale was transferred from Deuel Vocational Institution, a state prison in San Joaquin County, to the MCRP on Dec 2, 2020. He was scheduled to be released to parole supervision in September 2021. He was placed into the Deuel Vocation Institution on July 31, 2019, with a four-year sentence for burglary, his second strike, Patino said.
He was described as 6 feet tall and 157 pounds.
Anyone with any information regarding Lauderdale’s whereabouts was urged to call their local law enforcement agency or 911.
