A 54-year-old pedestrian was struck and fatally injured by a vehicle Monday in Brea, police said.
Hector Aguirre was pronounced dead at the scene of the 4:15 a.m. collision at Brea Boulevard and Lambert Road, said Brea police Lt. Philip Rodriguez.
The motorist remained at the location and cooperated with police, Rodriguez said.
Traffic was routed away from the area for about five hours while the accident investigation was conducted.
