A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle Monday in Brea, police said.

The male victim was struck at 4:15 a.m. at Brea Boulevard and Lambert Road, and was pronounced dead at the scene, said Brea police Lt. Philip Rodriguez. The pedestrian’s name and age were not immediately available.

The motorist remained at the scene and cooperated with police, Rodriguez said. Traffic was routed away from the area for about five hours while an investigation was conducted.
