A 71-year-old woman and 19-year-old man were killed Tuesday evening and one other person was injured in a three-vehicle crash in Huntington Beach involving a suspected drunken driver.
Officer responded about 6:45 p.m. to the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Warner Avenue and found three vehicles with extensive damage in the southbound lanes of Pacific Coast Highway, according to Lt. Ryan Reilly of the Huntington Beach Police Department.
A preliminary investigation showed 35-year-old Eric Kinser of Sunset Beach was driving a 2007 Dodge Ram pickup truck north on Pacific Coast Highway when he crossed over the center median and into the southbound lanes where the truck crashed head-on with a 1999 Toyota Solara and a 2012 Lexus RX350, Reilly said.
The 71-year-old woman driving the Lexus was pronounced dead at the scene and the 19-year-old man driving the Toyota died later at a hospital. A 45-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Lexus was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries, Reilly said.
Kisner was taken to a hospital for treatment, then arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to Reilly.
