Police Thursday shot and injured a man accused of having a gun in downtown Los Angeles, according to reports.
The shooting occurred about 4:30 p.m. near West Sixth and South Olive streets, close to Pershing Square, where officers where called for reports of a man with a gun, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Tony Im said.
Officers at the scene made contact with the man, and one fired shots, Im said.
The man, who was about 30 years old, was “possibly struck by gunfire,” Im said. CBS2 reported police shot and injured the man.
The man was taken to a hospital, Im said.
No information was immediately available on what led to the shooting.
