A 28-year-old man who was accused of drugging and raping a woman he had just met at a Santa Ana bar was sentenced Friday to a year in jail after entering into a plea deal in which the sex assault charges were dropped.
Wilbur Paul Lusker pleaded guilty to a felony count of burglary, and charges of rape by use of drugs, sodomy by anesthesia or controlled substance and grand theft, all felonies, were dismissed, according to court records.
Lusker met the woman in a bar on Feb. 17, 2019, and she accused him of sexually assaulting her, according to Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.
Lusker has been in custody since May 25 so it is uncertain if he has enough credits to be released right away.
