A man was listed in grave condition at an area trauma center after being struck by a Metro A (Blue) Line train in South Los Angeles Saturday.

Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched at 11:39 a.m. to the 4000 block of South Long Beach Avenue, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Humphrey added that the victim was briefly entangled with the train.

“The patient was quickly freed by LAFD responders and is being transported to a regional trauma center,” Humphrey said. “The tracks are presently clear, with the train remaining at the location, and no injuries aboard.”
