A 36-year-old man was charged Monday with raping a teenage relative in Orange.
Victor Contreras Ramirez is charged with three counts each of rape and sexual penetration of a child older than 14 and one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child, according to court records.
Ramirez is accused of raping the 16-year-old girl twice on Dec. 1 and once last Wednesday, but the alleged sexual abuse actually began in mid-November 2015, prosecutors allege.
A friend of the girl told another friend, who called police, said Sgt. Phil McMullin of the Orange Police Department. The defendant was arrested Thursday and was being held on $1 million bail.
Ramirez’s arraignment was rescheduled for Feb. 17 in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana.
