A 21-year-old man accused in multiple residential burglaries in Seal Beach was arrested Thursday.
Nicholas Tyler Johnson, of Seal Beach, was taken into custody on suspicion of residential burglaries in the city, including one that happened Tuesday in the 1500 block of Crestview Avenue, according to Lt. Nick Nicholas of the Seal Beach Police Department.
Officers were called to the home early that morning, where the residents awoke to find their place had been broken into and property stolen, Nicholas said. Police “determined that a suspect entered the house while the residents and children were asleep inside,” Nicholas said.
Detectives “worked tirelessly to solve this case,” Seal Beach Police Department Chief Philip Gonshak said
“I could not be more proud of our patrol officers who conducted a very thorough initial investigation by securing the scene and preserving evidence,” Gonshak said.
“Two days after the crime occurred, the suspect was in custody. I hope this sends a strong message to anyone considering victimizing Seal Beach.”
