A gang member on probation for a gun conviction was arrested Friday evening in Pomona on suspicion of possession of a loaded gun.
Officers patrolling a known gang area near the south alley of 600 Del Rosa Place, near the intersection of Dudley Street and Laurel Avenue, about 8:35 p.m. spotted fresh gang graffiti on the alley walls and two gang members in a nearby vehicle, according to Sgt. M. Medellin of the Pomona Police Department’s Major Crimes Task Force.
Police made contact with the driver, identified as Trinidad Perez, 26, of Pomona, and found he was armed with a loaded and concealed gun.
Both Perez and the passenger were detained and Perez was arrested without incident and booked into the Pomona City Jail on suspicion of a variety of gun violations and felony vandalism, Medellin said.
There was no report of the passenger being taken into custody.
