A Long Beach man was in custody Saturday on $2 million bail in connection with a non-injury shooting in Glendora.

The shooting was reported about 2:20 a.m. Friday in a parking lot in the 1000 block of East Route 66, according to Glendora police.

Eddy Velarde, 33, apparently got into a short argument with the victim and walked away only to come back a few minutes later and fire several shots at the person, police said.

The victim, who did not know Velarde, was unharmed and fled the scene on foot, officials said.

Detectives located an additional witness and identified Velarde as the gunman, police said. He was in Glendora visiting a friend and arrested about 8:50 p.m. Friday. A handgun was recovered.

Velarde was booked for suspicion of attempted murder and held at the Glendora police jail, according to sheriff’s inmate records.
