A 21-year-old man is in custody after a vehicle crash in Sylmar Sunday morning that killed a 24-year-old man who was a passenger in the car.
The driver was headed eastbound on Roxford Street, approaching Foothill Boulevard, at about 12:10 a.m. when he allowed the vehicle to leave the roadway, said Officer Rosario Cervantes of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Both the driver and passenger suffered severe injuries. Paramedics rushed them to area hospitals, where the passenger, the 24-year-old man, died, Cervantes said.
The driver, whose condition was not immediately known, was taken into custody and potential charges against him were pending, she said.
