One person was injured Monday in a shooting at the Hollywood & Highland shopping and entertainment complex and a suspect was taken into custody.

Terrified tourists ducked for cover and police were called about 4:25 p.m. to reports of the shooting with a person down, said Officer William Cooper with the Los Angeles Police Department.

After the shooting, police said a suspect fled the scene north on Highland Avenue. Officers set up a perimeter in the area, and by about 6:30 p.m., had one suspect in custody, Cooper said.

ABC7 reported a security guard was shot at the Shoe Palace store, but Cooper could not immediately confirm those details.

The injured person was reported in stable condition, Cooper said.
