A 24-year-old Anaheim woman was killed in an alcohol-fueled crash on the southbound Costa Mesa (55) Freeway in Tustin Tuesday, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Anthony Robles, 27, of Rowland Heights, was driving a 2008 BMW 335i south on the freeway in the number three lane “at a high rate of speed, in excess of 65 mph,” with the victim, whose name was not immediately released, in the right front passenger seat just after 2:05 a.m., according to the CHP.
The car then slammed into the rear of a 2012 Lexus RX350 in the same lane just north of the Santa Ana (5) Freeway, officials said.
The Lexus flipped over and its driver, 22-year-old Oriana Rousseau of Newport Beach, was taken to OC Global Medical Center with unspecified injuries, the CHP reported.
Robles was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence and the freeway was closed for about two hours and 15 minutes, the CHP reported.
