Deputies seized over a thousand marijuana plants from an illegal grow house in Moreno Valley, sheriff’s officials said Saturday.
A concerned neighbor alerted authorities about the home in the 16000 block of Palomino Lane, prompting deputies to execute a search warrant Friday morning, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Inside the home, deputies found 1,088 marijuana plants in various stages of growth, weighing a total of about 500 pounds, Sgt. Robert Martinez said.
The home also contained an additional electrical panel with exposed wiring, he said.
“The residence is part of a densely populated neighborhood with occupied homes surrounding it, creating an extremely dangerous environment for the citizens,” Martinez said.
Sheriff’s officials said a Southern California Edison crew cut power to the home.
No suspects were located in the home during the raid and the investigation was ongoing.
