A suspected drunken driver was arrested Saturday morning at a DUI and drivers license checkpoint in Pomona.
The checkpoint was operated between 9 p.m. Friday and 3 a.m. Saturday at Reservoir and Olive streets, according to the Pomona Police Department.
In addition to the DUI arrest, 30 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended or revoked license and five vehicles were towed, the department said.
“Drivers caught driving impaired and charged with DUI can expect the impact of a DUI arrest to be approximately $13,500,” a statement from the department said. “This includes fines, fees, DUI classes, license suspension and other expenses not to mention possible jail time.”
In 2018, Pomona police investigated 127 DUI crashes that injured 49 people.
