The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control Thursday announced a 30-day license suspension for a Long Beach cantina, citing an alleged history of “disorderly” activity at the location.
The ABC posted the suspension notice Wednedsay at Lona’s City Limits Cantina at 1174 E, Wardlow Road.
“Long Beach and Signal Hill Police Department Officers responded to numerous calls for service at this location,” according to an agency statement. “The disturbance calls included noise violations, fights, and even a patron being shot at the premises.”
The establishment is prohibited from selling, serving and allowing consumption of alcoholic beverages during the suspension period. And if the cantina “allows disorderly activity” during the next three years, the ABC has the authority to take further disciplinary action that could result in permanent revocation of its liquor license, according to the agency.
