Authorities Thursday sought public help to find a hit-and-run motorist responsible for fatally injuring a pedestrian in a North Hollywood crosswalk.
The victim, who was in his 50s, was killed about 6:50 p.m. Wednesday at Lankershim Boulevard and Stagg Street, said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Tony Im.
According to police, the man — whose name was withheld pending family notification — was walking across Lankershim Boulevard when he was hit by a northbound sedan. The silver or white 2010-2012 BMW sustained “severe damage” to its front end, according to the LAPD.
A standing reward of up to $50,000 has been offered by the city of Los Angeles for information that helps solve a fatal hit-and-run.
Anyone with information on the case was urged to call the LAPD Valley Traffic Division at 818-644-8022; 877-LAPD-247; or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
