A 32-year-old man suspected of stabbing two people at the Gold’s Gym in West Covina was arrested, police said Wednesday.
West Covina Police Department officers responded to the gym at the Plaza West Covina shopping center at about 9 a.m. Tuesday on reports of a stabbing, according to West Covina Police Department public information officer Alexus Napoles.
Officers were informed that two people were injured and had gone to a hospital, and that the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, Napoles said.
One victim was hospitalized in stable condition while the other was released, according to Napoles.
Officers located the suspect, identified as Paul Quintero, in his vehicle in the area of West Covina Parkway and West Garvey Avenue, Napoles said. Quintero was arrested and booked on charges of attempted murder. He is being held on $1 million bail, Napoles said.
