A man in his late 20s was shot and killed in an apparent gang-related shooting in a residential portion of the unincorporated Bassett area near Baldwin Park and the shooter was at large Saturday morning.
Deputies from the Industry Sheriff’s Station responded at 6:45 p.m. Friday to a gunshot victim call in the 1100 block of Stichman Avenue, near Rath Street, and found the victim lying in the street suffering from gunshot wounds, said Deputy Eric Ortiz of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
The victim was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, Ortiz said.
The name of the victim was not disclosed.
A detailed description of the shooter was not available.
