A 30-year-old woman has been taken into custody in Tulare County in connection with the stabbing killing of three young children whose bloody bodies were found at a Reseda apartment Saturday.

The suspected killer may be the mother of the three victims, but authorities had not yet confirmed that.

Liliana Carrillo was arrested in the Ponderosa area of Tulare County, east of Porterville, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Rosario Cervantes said at about 2:30 p.m.

The children, who police said all appeared to be under the age of five, were found in the 8000 block of Reseda Boulevard, near Strathern Street, after police were called at about 9:30 a.m., according to Cervantes.

“Officers responded to a death investigation of three victims, who were found deceased,” Cervantes said. “The cause of death has yet to be determined, as well as motive.”

According to NBC4 and ABC7, which both cited police sources, the victims were found by their grandmother and had been stabbed to death.

The LAPD reported early Saturday afternoon that Carrillo may have carjacked a silver Toyota pickup truck in the Bakersfield area.

Multiple media outlets reported that Carrillo was the victims’ mother, but Cervantes said her relationship to the victims was not yet confirmed.
