Sheriff’s deputies Friday arrested a man suspected of assault with a deadly weapon who barricaded himself in a Compton residence for nearly seven hours.
Deputies responded to the residence located in the 400 block of South Cliveden Avenue, near Compton/Woodley Airport, at about 11:15 a.m. on reports of an armed man suspected of assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The man barricaded himself in the residence, and Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Bureau personnel and crisis negotiators were sent to contact him, the sheriff’s department reported.
The man remained in the residence for nearly seven hours before he was arrested at about 6:10 p.m. No further details were released.
