Three suspects were behind bars Friday on suspicion of a gang-related shooting in Anaheim that left one man dead and another injured last summer.

Fullerton residents Dominick Sanchez, 27, Jacob Antunez, 24, and Jorge Nolasco, 27, were booked Thursday on suspicion of murder, attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon, with gang enhancements, and were being held in Anaheim’s jail, according to Anaheim police Sgt. Shane Carringer.

They are accused in the Aug. 15 killing of 28-year-old Edwin Richard Ramirez Hernandez and the wounding of another man, whose name was not released, Carringer said.

Police responded about 12:30 a.m. to a shooting in the street at Citron Street and Bellevue Drive, Carringer said.

Ramirez, an Anaheim resident, was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other victim, who was in his late 20s or early 30s, was hospitalized but survived, Carringer said.

Detectives suspect the suspects targeted the victims because they believed they were rival gang members, Carringer said, noting there is no evidence to suggest the victims had gang ties.
